To register to vote, you must fill out a New York State voter registration form mail it in to the Board of Elections for your county in the country.

New York State does not allow you to register online; mailing address for each county is printed on the form.
You can also call 1-800-FOR-VOTE to have a voter registration form mailed to you.

Or do it all in person at your county Board of Elections office.

Your voter registration form must be post-marked at least 25 days before that election or primary you want to vote in and must be received by your county Board of Elections at least 20 days before that election or primary. If you register to vote in person at your county Board of Elections, you must do so at least 25 days before the election in order to vote in that election. But don’t wait until the last minute, or you could find yourself out of time.

If you are changing your registration from one New York address to another, make sure to include your current voting address in Box 10. Your registration from that address will be automatically cancelled.
